The Jupiter Historical Society

The Jupiter Historical Society (JHS) was founded in 2016 to bring awareness to the limited number of historic structures remaining in the Town of Jupiter. Between 2016 and today, the JHS has been successful in petitioning the Town of Jupiter to approve a Zoning Text Amendment to the Town’s municipal code to allow for the adaptive reuse of historic structures, successfully achieving the local historic designation for the Sims House, implementing the adaptive reuse of the Sims House (c. 1924) while preserving one of Jupiter’s oldest residential structures, lobbying the Town of Jupiter to establish grants for the preservation of locally designated structures, and educating the public about the historic structures that remain in our Town. It is the mission of the JHS to promote the preservation the of remaining historic structures through collaboration with local residents, stakeholders, and local businesses.
